Community Art Critiques

I've been wanting to start community art critiques for quite awhile and they're finally happening! We're kicking off the first critique this weekend and all are welcome. More info on the Facebook page and below:

WHERE AND WHEN:

April 17th at The Blue House, 1700 S Rampart St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113

5-6 pm: Art Critique
6-7 pm: Community Potluck Dinner
--------------------------------------------------------

Could you use feedback on in-process work? Want to see what others in your local artist community are doing? Thinking about? Struggling with? Need to get out of the studio and talk art for awhile? We're starting community art critiques to do just those things.

Each month we'll review one participant’s work or the work of a famous artist to increase our ability to discuss and create better art ourselves. Critiques are open to all ages, skill levels and mediums. The only cost is the willingness to share your thoughts with others (it’s free).

For the first critique, Morgan Maiolie will share work from her painting series, Alternate Futures, that looks at land-building projects on the Gulf Coast. She's using sand, aerial imagery, and rethinking the map. Help her figure this out.

A community potluck dinner will follow the critique; feel free to come for one or both. See you Sunday!
